A passion for wood

Carpentier has been active in the timber industry since 1958. Willy Carpentier Houtindustrie was founded by entrepreneur Willy Carpentier. In doing so, he followed in the footsteps of his father, who had been making wooden clothes pegs and wash tubs for many years.

Today, the third generation focuses on the quality and the experiential value of wood. Together with our professional team, we invest heavily in developing innovative products that reflect sustainability, ecology and pure craftsmanship.

Carpentier harnesses wood as a driving force behind the circular building revolution. From rough-sawn timber to refined made-to-measure work: our sustainable wood solutions bring warmth, atmosphere and ease of use, both indoors and outdoors. Smart systems, high-quality finishes and a strong focus on design and experience make us the partner of choice for forward-thinking professionals and architects.

A leading player in the hardwood market

Carpentier sells over 20,000 m³ of European hardwood every year. This wood is delivered all over the world, including the Benelux, Germany, France, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Poland, the Baltic states, Scandinavia and more.

One of our specialities is oak. In addition, we focus in particular on thermo ash and thermo pine (HOTwood) and many other sustainable wood varieties.

In the meantime, we have acquired a great many references across various sectors. We supply to carpenters, timber merchants, garden architects, decking builders, timber-frame constructors, construction companies, renovation firms, interior companies, kitchen manufacturers and more. We also still have customers in the parquet, staircase and furniture industries.

Sustainable and circular

As one of the first Belgian companies to hold a PEFC and FSC® certification, Carpentier gives top priority to sustainable and environmentally responsible business practices.

We rigorously ensure that all wood comes from responsible and legal forest management. That is why we focus mainly on European wood varieties. Unlike most tropical wood varieties, these have for generations been the product of environmentally friendly and sound forest management.

Our ecological vision is consistently carried through into our production processes and into the development of our products. With the Voka Charter for Sustainable Enterprise, we also hold the annual certificate for this.

Wood solutions with added value

Carpentier positions itself as an innovative player and aims to create added value. We have an extensive and modern machine park that allows us to carry out all processing in our own workshop. This means we can saw, cut to size, dry, thermally modify, fine-saw, plane, rip-cut, brush and CNC machine the wood. All of this makes it possible to offer an extensive range of finished products such as cladding, wall panelling, ceiling panelling, decking, roof boards, wooden shutters, louvered roofs, wooden outbuildings, wooden garden gates and fencing.

We try to take as much work as possible off our customers' hands by also providing finishing treatments such as charring, brushing, pre-weathering, staining and oiling, and we deliver many products in ready-to-assemble kits with accompanying assembly instructions. With our most recent division in timber-frame construction, we even create fully finished kits in which speed, circularity and ecology take centre stage.
