Carpentier offers a stunning array of oak exterior cladding. The many profiles are available in rough and planed finishes and suited to horizontal or vertical alignment.
Working in our own sawmill, we saw oak cladding sourced from sustainably managed forests. As a native species, oak is an ecologically responsible wood variety and therefore PEFC certified (FSC® certified oak available at a higher price point).
Thanks to our expertise in wood production we are able to supply oak cladding in unusual widths and lengths, including boards exceeding three metres and with or without finger-joints.
Oak is a durable wood and offers sturdy resistance to the elements. To help retain its natural beauty, we advise customers to apply a protective hardwax oil. This will ensure that your oak weathers more slowly and develops a lovely evenly weathered patina thanks to the influence of wind and weather
On the other hand, you may prefer the look of trendy black. The beauty of oak cladding that has been lightly brushed and finished with two layers of opaque stain stands out particularly well in combination with a white stucco exterior. The black finish can be mixed to any desired degree of intensity. Feel free to ask us for advice with your project.
Carpentier also produces charred oak cladding in our own workshop, a treatment that gives oak an elegant black colour and an appealing weathered finish. We advise using charred oak for interior projects only. For more on this technique, please see ‘charred wood’ in our information on finishes.
