Kebony is a sustainably modified wood that has the look and quality of a tropical hardwood, but requires much less maintenance and is excellent value for money because it is long-lasting. In short, it’s the ideal wood for decking and façades!
Kebony is made from FSC® certified, knot-free, premium quality softwood (pinus radiata), immersed in a bio-sourced liquid (furfuryl alcohol) and exposed to heat of more than 100°C. This patented process permanently alters the cell walls of the softwood, giving Kebony the characteristics of a superior quality hardwood and a deep brown colour in just two steps.
This modification process results in amazing stability, maximum hardness and a guaranteed useful life. The wood also presents a smooth surface that can later be treated just like hardwood. It is ideal for cladding and decking.
Kebony comes from fast-growing resinous wood from sustainably-managed forests which can be farmed after just 30 years. After the modification process, Kebony wood achieves Durability Class 1 status.
Our Kebony decking boards are FSC® certified and come with a 30-year guarantee. This guarantee covers the wood rotting and flaking.
By choosing Kebony instead of a tropical hardwood for a 10 m²deck, you save around two tonnes of CO2. That’s the equivalent of 22 months of electricity in an average European household or charging 400,000 mobile phones.

Kebony has a deep brown colour. Untreated, this environmentally-friendly wood variety develops an attractive, light grey patina over time. The speed of this process depends on the level of exposure to the sun and rain.
Kebony does not require any maintenance or additional treatments other than normal cleaning.
