Meeting Class B Reaction to Fire standards without fire-retardant treatment, the bamboo cladding in our range is a durable, environmentally responsible alternative for increasingly scarce hardwood varieties. Carpentier supplies this cladding in tongue-and-groove boards, or in combination with the smart Grad® installation system for quick and easy installation.
Bamboo boards and solid MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® cladding profiles are made of bamboo strips that are compressed and thermally modified at a temperature of 200°C. This unique heat treatment increases the stability, compactness and hardness of the bamboo boards without the use of chemical agents. Thermo bamboo cladding is designated as durability class 1 and fire safety class B-s1-d0 (EN 13501-1) without fire-retardant treatment, which permits its use under the most stringent fire safety requirements, such as in apartment buildings and commercial properties. This means that architects can add thermo bamboo cladding to any project with no limitations on design.
This unique, ecologically responsible cladding requires very little maintenance. Since it is so compressed, thermo bamboo is quick to dry and virtually non-absorbent, and thus much less susceptible to mould and algae. Moreover, thermo bamboo cladding is not prone to shrinkage and swelling as temperatures fluctuate. All in all, bamboo cladding boards perform even better than the best tropical hardwood varieties, making them the ideal choice for outdoor projects!
Bamboo cladding is usually fitted vertically, but with our shiplap it can also be installed horizontally. As with all hardwood varieties, thermo bamboo weathers over time, developing a wonderful natural look. If you like, we can brush or treat your bamboo boards in whatever colour you wish, applying oil or stain. Please feel free to ask our advice about your project.
Carpentier supplies MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® cladding in various widths and with or without an invisible installation system for vertical installation with an open join.
We also supply shiplap cladding with and without the invisible Grad® installation system, and tongue-and-groove boards in fixed or variable lengths.

Carpentier supplies MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® cladding with the Grad® invisible installation system. The QuickClip® profiles ensure that installation is quick and easy and that results are seamless every time. With clips pre-mounted on aluminium joists, all you need to do is click the bamboo boards in place and they are automatically aligned. Installing cladding with QuickClip® profiles means considerable time savings for woodworking professionals.
Woodworking professionals can reduce installation time by up to 50% by using our QuickClip® products instead of traditional installation methods.
At Carpentier, all the accessories you need for fitting bamboo cladding are in stock and can be ordered at the same time. These include: waterproof membranes, battens and extra aluminium joists for finishing windowsills and door edges, and clip grips, etc.
When cladding is installed vertically, the effects of gravity could cause boards to slide. Glue is often used to ensure they remain in place. However, this means that our QuickClip® cladding loses its circular character. That’s why we recommend to use the Grad® clip grip. This handy tool locks the cladding boards firmly onto the aluminium rail, without stopping them from being easy to dismantle and keeping their circularity. One clip grip per board is enough to prevent any sliding.
If you want to replace a bamboo cladding board, access electrical wiring behind the cladding or smarten up the entire façade, for example, thermo bamboo cladding boards can be easily clicked loose using a set of Grad® dismantling keys. It couldn’t be easier.
Bamboo is the world’s fastest growing plant, and as such it provides a plentiful source of building material. Products are guaranteed to last 25 years, during which the original plant will have regrown to produce another five harvests. Just like the HOTwood bamboo decking boards in our range, bamboo cladding has a negative CO2 footprint over its lifetime. This makes it a sustainable, ecologically responsible alternative for increasingly scarce tropical hardwoods. Moreover, with its extremely fast rate of growth and virtually limitless availability, all around the world bamboo is increasingly seen as natural resource with plenty of potential for scaled-up implementation.
MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® cladding is PEFC and/or FSC® certified.
