An authentic look for interiors
As a result of years of exposure to the elements, our reclaimed wood has acquired a particular appearance and an authentic character that comes to life in their beautiful colouring and unusual grain. These old boards are particularly suitable for use as wall panelling and in flooring, furniture, kitchens, interior doors, shelving, sales counters, bar furniture and wall accents. Interior architects, kitchen designers, furniture designers and other woodworking professionals love our barnwood and other reclaimed wood for just this reason, preferring to work with wood that is robust and full of history. Used for renovating a farm building or country house for example, our reclaimed wood is both traditional and on trend, especially when combined with a smart, modern interior.
Advice from our wood expert
In principle, our reclaimed wood is dried/air-dried to a moisture content of between 12% and 20%. We advise to orient old wood planks vertically and to allow the wood to acclimatise on site for at least one week.
United Colours of Carpentier: an alternative for reclaimed wood
As an alternative for reclaimed wood, Carpentier offers an exclusive range of rough-sawn oak in weathered tints in the United Colours of Carpentier collection. Created in collaboration with a leading designer, it comprises five unique tints: space blue, coral red, oil blue, forest green and desert yellow. Each one is a harmonious option in both rustic and contemporary settings.
