As an extra service, we are pleased to provide a range of high-quality, easy-to-use wood maintenance products with which to clean and protect all wood varieties effectively. Whichever finish you choose, it is important to maintain wood using the right products. Doing so will extend its lifespan and make it easier to take care of, as well as ensuring years of beauty. Clean exterior wood surfaces in early spring
By the end of winter, a green film can develop on an untreated wooden deck. We advise customers to maintain their deck annually using Rubio Monocoat Exterior Wood Cleaner. This maintenance product cleans wood thoroughly and can be used to remove any green build-up that has accumulated. It can also remove the stains that sometimes develop on wood cladding in areas of high particulate emissions, such as close to busy roads.
A protective coat of oil to freshen up oiled wood
Maintain oiled wood by applying a single coat of Rubio Monocoat Hybrid Wood Protector. This unique maintenance oil dries quickly with no spotting, and is highly efficient in use. It is ideal for freshening up dull-looking oiled wood: just one layer is enough to provide lasting protection and restore colour. What’s more, it is an environmentally responsible product that really contains 0% VOC. This means that no hazardous substances evaporate into the air after applying oil. Depending on weather conditions and colour, oiled wood exterior cladding will require only a single maintenance coat every three to five years. Please note: it is essential to pre-clean wood using RMC Exterior Wood Cleaner before applying RMC Hybrid Wood Protector.
How to maintain wood
- Step 1 – Clean
Remove dirt and green mould or algae easily with RMC Exterior Wood Cleaner.
- Step 2 – Treat
Apply a fresh coat of RMC Hybrid Wood Protector in the colour of your choice. For more intense colour, use RMC Sunprimer HWP to pre-treat wood after cleaning.
Restore the natural beauty of your wood cladding or deck
If your wooden deck could use a deep cleaning, or if you would like to give your wood cladding an entirely new look, feel free to ask our team of professionals for advice. We can either send a wood expert to you, or rejuvenate and maintain your wood in our workshop. And keep in mind that our QuickClip® profiles are a circular building material That means that we can easily achieve a complete transformation of weathered cladding by applying a black finish, for example.
