Standard and made-to-measure profiles
Besides the standard profiles in fixed widths, Carpentier can also supply thermo ash decking in varied widths. Additionally, we can plane HOTwood ash decking boards (3000mm and longer) to create other profiles upon request. We also supply cover boards to hide and protect the ends of the decking boards. If you opt to leave board ends uncovered, we advise you to apply a protective coat of wax oil to prevent end checking and cracking.
The elegant appearance of thermo ash decking beautifully complements other Carpentier products, for example our thermo ash cladding.
Like our other sustainable wood varieties, thermo ash weathers to a beautiful, evenly grey colour under the influence of wind and weather. Even so, we advise customers to apply two layers of Aquatron immediately after installation. Aquatron repels dirt and ensures that water rolls off the surface of the wood, keeping it dry and better protected. With Aquatron, weathering is even more beautiful and even.

Advice from our wood specialists
Grad® decking risers are ideal for installing a deck using QuickClip® decking boards on an uneven uneven surface. You can create a solid base for the wooden deck of your choice by simply clicking on aluminium joists for our HOTwood decking boards. Decking risers are also a great solution when installing a raised deck. A single model of the adjustable decking risers can bridge height differences from 100mm to 1m.
Other tools, such as elastomer strips, clip grips and Top Cubes are also available. These are very useful, ensuring quick and easy installation and the best results.
After installation, simply clip the QuickClip® decking boards away using a set of disassembly keys – a convenient option when you need to access the area under a deck or want to create a new configuration. What’s more, our QuickClip® decking boards can be easily reinstalled.
Did you know?
In the event of an impact, decking boards fitted using clips can slide. To make sure the boards stay firmly in place, professionals often resort to using glue. But doing this would negate the circularity of our QuickClip® products. That’s why we recommend using Grad® clip grips. This practical tool keeps the decking boards firmly locked onto the aluminium rail, without stopping them from being easy to dismantle and, therefore, circular in nature. One clip grip per board is enough to prevent any sliding.
