A breather membrane protects the outside of your timber frame structure against rain, wind and hail, while allowing moisture to escape from the construction. At Carpentier you will find pro clima's vapour-permeable roofing and wall underlays in stock: SOLITEX MENTO 3000 and the reinforced SOLITEX MENTO PLUS, together with the tapes and adhesives to finish them correctly.
On the outside of a timber frame structure, the build-up has to do two things at once: keep rain, wind and hail out and let moisture escape from the construction. pro clima's SOLITEX MENTO membranes combine both thanks to a pore-free TEEE membrane that actively transports moisture to the outside.
You install them as a vapour-permeable underlay on sarking boards, on wood fibre sarking boards or directly on the insulation. Fully weather-resistant for up to 4 months, they also serve as temporary weather protection during construction.
Both membranes are highly vapour-permeable, watertight and fully weather-resistant for up to 4 months. This keeps your structure dry, both during and after construction.
Both membranes work on the same principle and are equally weather-resistant. The difference lies in their strength and in the insulation you use.
Not sure which membrane best suits your build-up? We are happy to help you decide.
Seal the overlaps and connections of the membrane with pro clima TESCON VANA: the all-round tape with a fleece backing for inside and outside use, reliably airtight and driving-rain-tight and workable from -10 °C.
