Natural pre-weathering with wax oil

For those seeking the most natural weathered look possible, our treatment with coloured wax oil is a strong solution. This finish was developed to replicate the natural ageing of thermally modified wood as realistically as possible. We always apply two coats.

The fine wax particles, natural oils and high-quality pigments penetrate deep into the wood and form a breathable protection that repels water and dirt. The result is a matt grey shade that allows the wood to retain its natural appearance, without feeling forced or artificial. This finish also helps to limit the formation of algae and moss and offers strong UV resistance thanks to the high pigment content.

Alternatives for a pre-weathered finish

Weathering with wax cream

If you are looking for a simpler and more budget-friendly alternative, then RMC WoodCream is an interesting option. This VOC-free wax cream also provides a beautiful weathered look and is suitable for, among others, HOTwood ash, HOTwood softwood and oak. One coat is sufficient. Moreover, the cream is available in 27 colours, including various shades of grey. All RMC products are VOC-free, so no harmful vapours are released.

Grey-impregnated profiles

For those who do not want any periodic treatment at all, grey-impregnated profiles in Accoya Color Grey are the strongest solution — grey right through to the core, even from day one and exceptionally low-maintenance.
