HOTwood Clear Pine is the knot-free thermo softwood from Carpentier: an ideal sustainable alternative to tropical hardwood. Thanks to the thermal modification, this knot-free softwood combines an attractive, even appearance with excellent stability and durability.
HOTwood stands for Heated Outdoor Timber. Our knot-free softwood is thermally modified without any chemical additives, heated to at least 215 °C with steam to limit cracking and splitting.
After this treatment, HOTwood Clear Pine is comparable to tropical hardwood of durability class I/II. The wood gains dimensional stability and resistance to wood rot and moisture, and has a very attractive, even colour that weathers beautifully over time. Its knot-free character makes Clear Pine particularly suited to applications where a clean, regular wood appearance takes centre stage.

Our HOTwood Clear Pine products come with a 15-year guarantee. Always treat end grains that are not covered by an edge board with a wax oil to prevent end splits and cracks.
