This policy sits alongside our privacy statement (https://carpentier.be/en/privacy-policy), which sets out how we process personal data more generally.
What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you visit it. On a later visit, that file is read again. This is how a website remembers your language choice or the content of a form, for example.
Alongside cookies we also use comparable technologies such as pixels, tags and local storage. Where this policy refers to "cookies", it covers all of these. We distinguish between first-party cookies (placed by carpentier.be), third-party cookies (placed by parties such as Google, Meta, LinkedIn or Zoho), session cookies (deleted as soon as you close your browser) and persistent cookies (kept until their expiry date or until you delete them).
Which categories do we use?
Necessary cookies. Essential for the website to work. They provide basic functionality, secure our forms and store your cookie preferences. No consent is required, they are always active.
Functional cookies. Remember the choices you make and improve your experience, for example your language, your region or the chat function. They do not collect information for advertising purposes.
Analytics cookies. Let us measure how visitors use our website: which pages are popular, how long people stay, which channel they arrive through and where they drop off. We use these insights to improve the website and our product information.
Marketing cookies. Track your browsing behaviour across websites and allow us to show advertising that matches your interests and to measure the results of our campaigns. They are placed by Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and LinkedIn.

Your consent
On your first visit we show a cookie banner. There you choose which categories you accept. Necessary cookies are always active; the other categories are only placed once you have given your consent. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences button at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
You can also block or delete cookies yourself through your browser settings. Please note that parts of the website may then work less well.
Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Some of our partners (Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Zoho) are established outside the European Economic Area or process data on servers outside the EEA. In that case the transfer relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, supplemented by additional safeguards where necessary.
Your rights
Cookies may process personal data. Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability of your data, as well as the right to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at marketing@carpentier.be. You may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, contact@apd-gba.be.
Changes to this cookie policy
We update this cookie policy when the cookies we use or the applicable legislation change. The date at the top indicates the current version.
