At Carpentier you'll find GL beams for timber structures where span, stability and workability all have to come together. They combine high load-bearing capacity with a relatively low weight, which makes them particularly suitable for applications where strength is allowed to be on show.
Our glued laminated beams in strength class GL24 are built up from glued and finger-jointed wood, such as larch, douglas fir, spruce or pine. This construction creates strong, dimensionally stable beams that can handle large spans while remaining a pleasure to work with.
That is precisely where their added value lies. Despite their robust performance, GL beams remain relatively light, which makes handling on site easier. They also perform strongly in terms of fire resistance and come into their own perfectly in visible applications where structure and aesthetics meet.
For structures where the beams remain out of sight, we also offer finger-jointed spruce beams in strength class C24. A reliable and cost-effective solution for a wide range of construction applications.
