Cyriel

Forestique Cyriel: single storey home with dark timber cladding in a residential area at sunset.

Cyriel. Compact living, life to the full.

Cyriel is the smart starter among the Forestique homes. A single storey, one clear line from street to garden. At the front you keep things calm and private, while at the back your living space opens up to the garden with a large glazed façade. Everything you need, nothing you won't use.

Cyriel's strengths

Cyriel grows with your life. Today your first home, later a garden office, pool house or care home beside your children's house. The modular system makes those second lives possible without any renovation worthy of the name.

  • Everything on one level, no stairs: comfortable at any age
  • Large glazed façade at the rear: your garden becomes part of your living space
  • Compact volume, low energy costs and little maintenance
  • Fits narrow, deep plots where conventional building is difficult
  • Prefab timber-frame construction: quickly wind- and watertight, quickly ready to live in
Carpentier is a company that keeps its word: punctual in timing, punctual in follow-up. That makes working together very pleasant. I have therefore strongly recommended them to other architects and professionals, because of the knowledge present within the company and because they work innovatively with very fine products.

Frequently asked questions about Cyriel

General questions about modular building in wood, such as lead time and quality, are answered on the Forestique page. Here you can read what applies specifically to Cyriel.

  • Who is Cyriel intended for?

For those who want to live compactly without compromising on comfort: first-time buyers, people living alone or couples, and those already thinking about later. A single storey, an open living space opening onto the garden and a bedroom with a dressing area that also has room for an office or a cot. Cyriel is also a logical choice as a care home alongside an existing house.

  • How wide does my plot need to be for Cyriel?

The volume of Cyriel is 6 m wide and 13.45 m deep. How much additional plot width you need depends on your municipality's planning regulations, such as the distance to the plot boundary. Often a narrow, deep plot where conventional construction is difficult will suffice. Send us your plot details and we will check it for you straight away.

  • Can Cyriel be given a different function later?

Yes, that is precisely what Cyriel was designed for. Today your first home, later a garden office, a pool house or a care home alongside your children's house. Because everything is built on a single level and modularly, you don't need to carry out any renovations for this. If you want more space, you simply add a module: an extra bedroom or an office.

  • Is Cyriel suitable as a care home?

Yes. Everything is on a single level, there are no stairs and the volume remains compact: ideal for living independently close to family. Specific rules apply to care homes in Flanders: depending on your situation, a notification will suffice or a permit is required. We will look at what applies to your plot together with you.

  • What does Cyriel cost?

The price depends on the finishing level, the technical installations and the options you choose, such as the canopy or the cladding. Request a no-obligation price indication: you will get a clear overview of what is included, so you know where you stand.

Built by a family with a heart for wood

Since 1958, Carpentier has stood for craftsmanship in wood. What began in Tielt as Willy Carpentier Houtindustrie grew into a wood specialist that supplies more than 20,000 m³ of European hardwood each year and was one of the first Belgian companies to hold both the FSC and PEFC labels.

Today the third generation continues that story. Forestique is their own living concept: not an anonymous building system, but a home from people who have been working with wood for more than sixty years and are involved with it themselves every day.
