Abodo Vulcan® cladding offers plenty of freedom in finish and appearance. Depending on the desired design, you can adapt the wood in various ways.

  1. Natural or pre-weathered
    Left untreated, Vulcan® weathers beautifully and evenly. With a pre-weathering treatment, you steer that process straight in the right direction for a consistent, understated façade.
  2. Charred or brushed
    For a dark, striking look, charring or brushing is a strong option. This way, Vulcan® fits perfectly within sleek, contemporary architecture.
  3. Transparent or opaque oil
    Are you after a specific colour, or do you want to preserve the wood grain? Both transparent and opaque oils are possible.
  4. Suitable for vertical and horizontal use
    Abodo Vulcan® cladding can be applied both vertically and horizontally — vertical grain technology guarantees a sleek and stable result in both cases.

Stable, durable and architecturally striking

Abodo Vulcan® stands out thanks to its vertical grain technology: the wood is quarter-sawn, glued and re-sawn. This produces an exceptionally dimensionally stable board with a lower risk of distortion or surface cracking — particularly suited to sleek façade designs and wide profiles.

In conventional flat grain boards, the growth rings lie more horizontally, which can make the board more prone to movement and warping. In Abodo Vulcan®, the growth rings run vertically, giving greater dimensional stability and a calmer façade appearance.

At Carpentier, Abodo Vulcan® is available as a four-sided planed, unprofiled board, ready for further processing or profiling made to measure.
