Carpentier is the official distributor of Abodo® and, with Vulcan®, offers high-quality timber feature cladding for modern architecture. Through thermal modification, the cladding boards made from FSC®-certified Radiata Pine gain added stability, durability and strong technical performance, while retaining their warm, understated appearance.
Abodo Vulcan® cladding offers plenty of freedom in finish and appearance. Depending on the desired design, you can adapt the wood in various ways.
Abodo Vulcan® is a strong choice for cladding with an understated, homogeneous appearance and exceptional dimensional stability. The wood is stable, durable and widely applicable — for cladding that convinces both technically and aesthetically.
Abodo Vulcan® combines the stability of thermally modified wood with a particularly understated, homogeneous appearance. It is a material that doesn't impose itself, yet instantly gives every façade project more class.
Abodo Vulcan® stands out thanks to its vertical grain technology: the wood is quarter-sawn, glued and re-sawn. This produces an exceptionally dimensionally stable board with a lower risk of distortion or surface cracking — particularly suited to sleek façade designs and wide profiles.
In conventional flat grain boards, the growth rings lie more horizontally, which can make the board more prone to movement and warping. In Abodo Vulcan®, the growth rings run vertically, giving greater dimensional stability and a calmer façade appearance.
At Carpentier, Abodo Vulcan® is available as a four-sided planed, unprofiled board, ready for further processing or profiling made to measure.
Vulcan® is not only an aesthetic choice but also a sustainable building solution. Its carbon balance shows that Vulcan® stores more carbon than is required to produce it — more than 7.56 kg per m².
Vulcan® has an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and is Declare Red List Free certified. This makes the cladding particularly attractive for projects in which material transparency, circularity and a low environmental impact are central.
