PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) is an international certification that guarantees wood comes from sustainably managed forests. Strict rules apply regarding reforestation, biodiversity and respect for people and the environment. At Carpentier, our European hardwood carries the PEFC label as standard — so you can be sure you are working with a responsible, ecological raw material.
FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council), like PEFC, is a renowned certification for wood from responsibly managed forests. Both guarantee a sustainable origin; they differ mainly in organisation and in their specific criteria and control approach. In some projects or specifications, FSC® is explicitly required. That is why we provide FSC®-certified wood on request (subject to a surcharge). Let us know with your enquiry and we will arrange the right certificate for your project.
PEFC is an international certification that guarantees wood comes from sustainably and responsibly managed forests, with strict rules regarding reforestation, biodiversity and respect for people and the environment. Our European hardwood carries the PEFC label as standard.
Less than untreated wood, but not entirely maintenance-free. Always treat the end grain with a wax oil during installation. Periodic cleaning and occasional re-treatment will further extend its lifespan.
