The Shou Sugi Ban technique not only gives our black wood its unique appearance, but also makes the wood more durable. By scorching our wood profiles beforehand, a fire-retardant charred layer is created and the wooden wall is also better protected against insects and fungi. What's more, at Carpentier we work exclusively with sustainable wood varieties from sustainably managed forests. Charred wood is therefore certainly a sustainable choice for cladding your interior walls.
To keep the appearance and protection of this charred top layer in optimal condition, we recommend regular maintenance with a suitable sealer, such as the matt black Wood Hydro Shield SSB.

Our Ignite tongue-and-groove board in thermo pine perfectly mimics the characteristic pattern of our charred wood. The key difference is that Ignite does not have the black charred layer that the wood acquires after applying the traditional Shou Sugi Ban charring technique. To achieve the texture of charred wood, the thermally modified softwood is coloured black, brushed and given a relief.
This unique and aesthetic profile is a price-attractive alternative to charred wood and possesses all the durable properties of thermo pine. Ignite is also very low-maintenance. After 5 to 7 years, simply applying a coat of black water-based paint is enough. The charred look effect is not lost in the process and remains guaranteed for years to come. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
Our wooden QuickClip® walls were developed as a circular interior solution. Thanks to the QuickClip® by Grad® system, you can easily unclip the wooden profiles using the right dismantling keys. Without any damage, and therefore perfectly reusable. This makes it possible to dismantle the panelling later and reassemble it elsewhere.
Want to work quickly, neatly and efficiently? Then the smart Grad® system offers great added value when installing timber cladding. This concealed fixing system is perfectly matched to our QuickClip® profiles and makes installation considerably easier.
The clips are positioned in advance at the correct spacing on the aluminium joists. You then simply click the timber boards into place. This way you save time on site, work with great precision and also cut installation costs.
QuickClip® also makes the cladding removable. Using dismantling keys, you simply unclip the timber battens without damaging the profile. So you opt for a solution that combines ease of use, a neat finish and circularity.
With vertical wall cladding, timber boards can shift slightly along the clips under their own weight. On site this is sometimes solved with glue, but doing so removes one of the key benefits of the QuickClip® system: its demountability.
That is why we recommend the Grad® clip grip. It holds the boards firmly on the aluminium rail, while still allowing you to release them easily later on. This way the circular character of the system is preserved. To prevent shifting, one clip grip per groove per board is enough.
Do you need to work behind the wall later, make an adjustment or refresh the cladding? Then simply click the boards loose again using the dismantling keys. Quick, neat and without any damage.
