Barnwood is reclaimed softwood of over 200 years old, sourced from old wooden barns. Each piece is unique — no two boards are the same.

  1. European or Canadian barnwood
    European barnwood has variations in colour from grey and black to brown. Carpentier continuously searches for batches with as many grey tones as possible. Canadian barnwood is slightly more uniform in colour, but may also include a coloured board.
  2. Thick and solid
    Our solid timber cladding in barnwood is available in thicknesses from 20 to 24 mm and in varying lengths — ideal for rustic projects full of character.
  3. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use
    Thanks to their hardness and durability, these reclaimed wood varieties are ideal for outdoor applications. But indoors too, for ceilings and walls, barnwood is a perfect fit.
  4. Cradle-to-cradle principle
    Carpentier processes the reclaimed wood into cladding according to the cradle-to-cradle principle — so that as much material as possible is given a useful second function.
