For acoustic reasons, we recommend gluing elastomer tape to the underside of the aluminium joists when installing decking without decking risers. It is 2 mm thick and acts as an insulating layer between the aluminium joists and the substrate. Especially on a substrate of stabilised sand or gravel, this allows you to limit the acoustic impact.
