Roof terrace in Accoya | NEMO Science Museum Amsterdam

The iconic rooftop square of the NEMO Science Museum, designed by Renzo Piano, underwent a thorough renovation and was transformed into a green, multifunctional piazza on one of the highest points in Amsterdam. For the floor finish, the choice fell on Accoya, a wood variety that is rot-free, combines a long service life with a low CO₂ footprint and effortlessly handles the hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. The made-to-measure QuickClip® decking boards were installed untreated with a concealed clip system, so that the wood weathers beautifully and the floor remains easy to dismantle.
