Wood with an authentic appearance
As a result of years of exposure to the elements, our reclaimed wood has acquired a particular appearance and a distinct character featuring authentic grooves, tears, knots and nail holes. The visible history of these rustic-looking boards immediately recreates the warm atmosphere of their original setting. Moreover, by choosing our reclaimed wood you are opting for a highly sustainable wood source, since each piece is reclaimed from previously-used building materials.
Advice from our wood expert
In principle, our reclaimed wood is dried/air-dried to a moisture content of between 12% and 20%. We advise customers to orient old wood planks vertically, particularly in outdoor projects. If you have selected barnwood for ceiling or wall panelling, we recommend allowing the wood to acclimatise on site for at least one week.
Applications
Our barnwood and other reclaimed wood can be used for many purposes, such as outdoor cladding, ceiling and wall panelling, interior doors, shelving, counters, bar furniture and wall accents.
